My visit to place of Historical Interest

I am always curious by nature to know the places of historical interest. Whenever I get an opportunity, I visit  a  place . During  the last  winter  vacation, I got  such  an opportunity to visit Shat Gambuj Mosque at Bagherhat , a great  historical place with my parents. The Mazar of Khan Jahan Ali at Bagherhat is a fine one storied building. It has a beautiful dome. It is a big and beautiful building. The mosque is beautifully decorated both inside  and outside . The mosque was used as a prayer hall as well  as the court of Khan Jahan Ali.The mosque has great attraction  for  the tourists and visitors. There  is a  big dighi. It  is said  that a horse was made to run before digging the dighi. The  horse run straight covering a certain distance from the dighi. That distance was accepted  as  the length of the dighi. That is why, the dighi is called Ghora Dighi.I visited the whole length of the dighi and came to know many things about the social works of Khan Jahan Ali. I spent seven hours there  and saw many historical things and enjoyed myself. Now, It is one of the greatest tourists  attractions and the best  architectural beauties  of Bangladesh. I left  Bagherhat  but  the  memory  still is vivid  in my memory.

Tree Plantation

Trees are the best friend of man. They do us good in many ways. They supply us food, medicine, timber, fuel and what not. The trees take in Carbon di-oxide and give us oxygen without that no animals can live. The trees present us flowers, the most beautiful things on earth. They keep the atmosphere cool and bring down rain. Yet some people are so ungrateful that they recklessly cut down such a beneficial friends. The little forests  that we have in Chittagong, Khulna, Dinajpur, and Tangail areas  are shrinking  day by day for increasing population. There are various fruit trees n all over the  country. But they are not sufficient to meet our fruit requirement. To make  our  country prosperous and to check  air  pollution  and to save our earth from greenhouse effects  we should plant more and more trees. Trees make the earth beautiful. Trees gives us fruits which are  the best  kind  of food. That  is why  heaven  is  imagined  as a  garden  full  of  trees. The earth  without  trees would  be a big desert  where  all  animals  will  die . So we should plant more trees.

A book fair which is organized to display and sell books is called a book fair. I visited a book fair organized on the 21st February last year. The fair looked very grand, large and nice. I went round the fair. I saw different book stalls, a huge crowd of people. The books such as novels, rhymes, adventure series etc. were available here. I saw the children and students were buying books according to their respective choice and taste. I learnt many things and purchased a few books by Emdadul Hoque Milon. I saw him surrounded by a lot of fans. He seemed to feel tired of giving autographs. The seminar held at the foot of a tree attracted me most. A Village Doctor/ Your idea of a village doctor

The man who deals with village people and gives medicine to the rural people without any knowledge about medicine is called the village doctor. He takes slight training from an experienced doctor. The village peoples like him very much. In other words he is favorite people to the villagers. He may not a good or an efficient doctor but he goes if anybody calls him to their house. He selects medicine depending on his general idea. He also has an own dispensary where he sits from morning till night. Every day he gets up early in the morning and takes his bathe and takes his meal and goes to his dispensary. Sometimes he takes an assistant. The passerby gives him coins being moved with pity and sympathy. Thus he earns for his survivals. He does not give anything to the society. He never tells a lie to us which most other teachers frequently do now. He also believes that a teacher never tells a lie with the students if he or she is really a teacher. The life of a day labourer is full of sorrows and sufferings. He can hardly enjoy peace and happiness. In all weathers good and bad – he works hard all day long and earns his livelihood the sweat of his brow. Though the service of a day labourer is great importance, he is very much neglected. Gender discrimination

Gender discrimination means the difference between male and female in respect of enjoying human right. It begins at birth in Bangladesh. It is severe here. Female children, girls and women are the worst sufferers. There are many reasons of this social curse. Parents think that girls are not suitable for many jobs. Moreover, in the existing socio-economic setup female children are not suitable for outdoor activities and earnings. Women are regarded as a liability to their parents. Religious misinterpretation, social customs and lack of education are also responsible for this. But because of this discrimination the nation is getting deprived of the services of the half of its population who are women. This hinders national development. This problem cannot be solved overnight. To solve this problem, we all should come forward and try heartily.

Dowry/Dowry System

Dowry means property or money, which is brought by a bride to her husband’s house at the time of marriage. It is a social curse. Usually in our society female children are considered inferior to male children. They are thought to be no use. So greedy people claim much money or wealth from the parents of the brides. The poor and illiterate girls mainly become the victims of dowry. It the guardians fail to fulfill the demand of the bridegrooms, they misbehave with their wives. As a result many of them get divorced or commit suicide or are killed by their husbands. This system has affected our whole society. I am dead against this evil system. It should be uprooted from the society. Government should take strict legal measures against the person who take dowry.

Globalisation

Globalisation means free movement of goods, service, people and information across the national borders. It is mainly connected with business, trade and international relations by creating a borderless world. The world has now become a global village. With the development of hi-tech communication and rapid transportation facilities, the world has come closer. We can reach the remotest corner of the world within a second. If one country is in distress, others can immediately come to its assistance. But the globalization has some demerits too. The gap between wealth and poverty is ever widening. The industrially developed capitalist countries are exploiting the poorer countries. The poorer and developing countries should ensure good governance and efficient management to get the facilities of globalization. Proper education is also necessary. If the developed and developing nations work together on terms of solidarity, equity and justice the process of globalisation will make our world a better place to live in.

Good health

Good health means soundness of body and mind. It keeps us fit for our work. It keeps us free from diseases. By maintaining some rules, we can keep good health. We should eat balanced diet. We should drink clean water and take regular physical exercise. The most people are in our country. So they do not get the food they need for good health. The rich and the educated people are not conscious of the rules of good health. They think that costly food is good for health. As a result most of the people suffer from various complexities. Public awareness should be increased about good health. By keeping simple and care free life one can lead a happy life.

The importance of English

The importance of English can’t be described in words. It is an international language. We need English for our higher education. It is the storehouse of knowledge of all books. All books on higher education are written in English. These books help us to acquire knowledge in any branch. Besides the knowledge of modern science and technology is available in English. Today more than 80% of all the information in the world’s computers is in English. So if we do not know English, we will not be able to keep pace with the present world. Today organizations need employers who can speak and write a standard form of English. So it helps to get a good job and to earn more money. Moreover, to communicate with foreign countries and to run foreign business, English is essential. From this, we can say that we need to learn English for the progress of our individual as well as our national life.

Environment Pollution

Environment consists of all around us. The elements of our environment are air, water, soil, forest etc. Fresh environment is essential for us. But polluted environment is harmful for us. Environment is polluted in many ways. Smoke pollutes air. Man makes fire to cook food, to make brick, to melt pitch, to burn rubbish and waste. This fir creates smokes and pollutes environment. Water is another important element of the environment. Man pollutes water in many ways. Unsanitary latrine causes environment pollution. Farmers use chemical fertilizer and insecticide in the field. These mix with water and cause water pollution. Environment pollution is a serious problem. We all should try to remove it. Awareness of people should be increased. We should plant more and more trees. The factories should not be allowed in the residential area. Government should take necessary steps to stop it.

Green House effect

The green house effect means the gradual warming of the air surrounding the earth. It is a result of heat being trapped by environment pollution. The carbon dioxide is also responsible for it. As a result of burning coal and oil, carbon dioxide is produced. Because of the green house effect the ice covering the North and South poles is melting. It may raise sea level. As a result the southern part of Bangladesh and some other costal countries may go under water. Animals and plants are endangered with the threat of extinctions. Many natural disasters are the effects of it. Tree plantation programme should be taken soon. Steps should be taken to stop the production of carbon dioxide.

A Rainy day I faced

On that I was returning home from school. I had few friends with me. Suddenly I found black clouds to the north-west side of the sky. I thought it will rain soon. So I started to walk fast. After a few time it began to rain cats and dogs. I took shelter in a wayside house. I got drenched thoroughly. I pulled of my shoes and shirt and waited in the hope that the rains would soon cease. But there was no sign of abating it. Besides I had no umbrella with me. Finding no other alternative I started for home again. I put my books in a polybag. I found the path too much muddy and slippery. However I reached home two hours late. I was wet from head to foot and was shivering with cold. My parents and other family members were astonished to see my condition. They took necessary steps to make fresh instantly. Really it is a bitter experience in my life.

Newspaper

The paper, which carries news and views of home and abroad to us daily, is called newspaper. It is called the store house of knowledge. In our country the newspapers freedom to express their opinions to the public. There are different types of newspaper in our country such as dailies, weeklies, monthlies etc. After getting up  from bed early in the morning , our first  activity is reading newspaper. Because newspaper is a great source of knowledge and pleasure. There are political news, sports news, business news, international affairs. student column in it. Newspaper publish news and views of different parties, countries, and societies. So a newspaper represents a complete global society. But in our country some of the newspaper publish news supporting political parties. Sometimes they write columns to gains benefits from the ruling party. In this case readers are shocked and confused because of exaggeration. This type news or report is called yellow journalism. For this misunderstanding takes place and  many unexpected incident happen. So the reporters and the persons concerned should be aware of their noble responsibilities.

My Favourite Bangladeshi Food

Food habit differs from man to man. I eat many kinds of Bangladeshi foods. But all are not favorite to me. The first important food is rice. Then comes my most favourite food, Hilsha fish. meat of different sorts is also my favourite food. Another food item called Khichuri is liked by me. Bangladesh is a land of Pitha and payesh. Different types of Pithas are prepared in the month of Agrahayan, when new paddy is harvested. Pithas like patisafta, bhapa, chitai, puli are my most favourite. Polao is ceremonial food which is spicy and hard to digest. But i can not do without having polao once a week. Besides, I like some tasty food items like Alo bhazi, shutki bharta, Patol bhazi, Kakrol bhazi and so on. Among seasonal fruits i like mango, jack fruit, water melon, black berries, pineapple etc. Pure cow milk is also my favourite to me. Almost all the food items of Bangladesh are very delicious and nutritious. So, I like them most. Actually the food items we take in our is rarely found elsewhere in the World. I feel proud having the delicious Bangladeshi foods.

In some bus stands there are ticket counters. Passengers stand in a long line to buy tickets. There are small shops at a bus stand. In some bus stands there are book stalls and restaurants. Water is a very important element of human environment. It is essential for all kinds of lives. Clean water is healthful but polluted water is very harmful. It is life saving as well as life destroying element. Many people all over world die drinking polluted water. Water can be polluted in various ways. Farmers use chemical fertilizers and various insecticides in their fields. Some of these mix with water through and floods and polluted it. Mills and factories throw their poisonous chemicals and waste products into rivers and canals and pollute water. Insanitary latrines and unsafe drains are also responsible for water pollution. Again motor launches, steamers pollute water by dumping oil, food waste and human waste into the rivers. By drinking this impure water many people often suffer form many diseases like cholera, dysentery etc. So we should take proper steps to prevent water pollution at any cost. But only government will not be able to solve this problem. Public awareness should be raised. Thus we can lead a healthy and happier life.
